You may be eligible to receive compensation under the MRCA even though you may have received (or continue to receive) payments by DVA under either the VEA or the DRCA.
In working out the amount of MRCA PI compensation payable to you, DVA include any VEA Disability Compensation Payments (DCP) or DRCA PI lump sums you have received.
This is to ensure you are not compensated above the maximum MRCA PI weekly amount.
In certain circumstances, a lump sum payment received under the DRCA needs to be converted to its weekly payment equivalent for calculation of PI compensation using the Life Tables provided by the Australian Government Actuary.
